What is Joy & What to Do with It

The Angels announced great joy to all people. But did great joy follow ?. They continued to be ruled by Roman. They were just forced to move around for census. Children 2 and less are going to be killed soon. What then was this Joy. Once we know and experience it, what do we do with it
